About
Telepractice (also called teletherapy or virtual speech therapy) lets families meet their clinician on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You get the same assessment, treatment, and home-practice coaching as an in-clinic visit — without the commute. That matters for Vancouver-area families with packed schedules and for people in Victoria, Kelowna, Prince George, Kamloops, Nanaimo, and other BC communities with fewer local SLPs.
Sessions work on a computer, tablet, or phone with a camera and microphone. A quiet, well-lit space and headphones help. For children around age 3 and up, therapists use interactive materials and screen-sharing; a parent nearby is essential for younger children. Most plans that cover speech therapy also cover telepractice — we provide receipts that name the virtual delivery method.
What We Treat
Methods
HIPAA-compliant Zoom-style visits with a tech check before the first appointment.
Screen-sharing games, visual supports, and shared worksheets that keep children engaged.
The clinician coaches adults in the room so practice continues between visits.
The same homework and exercise tools as in-person care, assigned in the client portal.
Process
Request the service you need. Staffing and intake follow the same clinic path as in-person care.
We confirm camera, microphone, and a stable connection before the first visit.
Meet on a secure video link for assessment or weekly therapy.
Use the client portal for homework, notes the clinician shares, and upcoming visits.
Some families mix clinic visits with telepractice. Your clinician will say when a face-to-face session helps.

FAQ
For many speech, language, fluency, and voice goals, telepractice matches in-person outcomes when the client can attend, see materials, and practice between sessions. Very young children or those with significant attention needs may start better in person.
Yes. Our clinicians are licensed in British Columbia. Families from Victoria to northern and Interior communities can attend from home.
